Yeah, the infamous rubber head gaskets.  Make sure there is no coolant leak
around the cylinder head area.

I just saw a pretty-looking 87 GL at a used car lot -- $4295 -- 66K
miles.

I recall my mechanic in Virginia telling me that at about 70K these
engines blow a major gasket and need an expensive repair job. Could I get
some feedback on this (mis)information?
