I'm making progress on the stretch project, I've got the syncro gas filler
installed in the non syncro westie rear half. The syncro gas tank developed
several holes while I was reshaping it to clear the diesel starter, but
that was sort of expected. I'm awaiting some HDPE welding rod to fix that.
I hope the tank is HDPE :-) I found out that it's not Polypro as I had
first suspected. If anyone has a positive ID on the tank material please
let me know.

The stretch is at http://www.evcl.com/strvan/strvan.html I havn't updated
it in weeks. I probaly won't get around to updating the site before mid
september since I expect to have the stretch running in 4 weeks.

Several people have asked to be around when I start to cut the two halves
that will make up the stretch vanagon. I've decided to have a little party
for those interested in watching. It'll start this Sunday at noon 8/2/98.
Bring beer and BBQ supplies, I'll supply the grill.

The cutting will happen at my shop in Palo Alto, CA. Pmail me for directions.
