Hey listees, My hat's off to Otmar. To all of you who complain about him cutting up two vanagons GET REAL! Despite what you might have deluded yourself into thinking, we're not talking about Porsche Speedsters or AC Cobras or even split window 'Vettes. He's taking a functional, interesting design and making it more interesting. Some years ago I remember reading an article in Hot VW's on how the folks at the Trim Shop in Phoenix (???) did both a stretch and a shortened version of a VW Thing. Which by the way were much rarer than Vanagons and historically more important (considering their Kubelwagon roots and all.) So unless Otmar has one (or both) of the Vanagons that der Fuhrer was spotted driving around Argentina last summer let him have his fun. And while you're at it get out in the fresh air more often. Too much time inside your van is obviously suffocating your neurons. thoma p.s. If you only knew what I plan to do with my Vanagon ;-) -----Original Message----- From: Otmar Ebenhoech <Otmar@EVCL.COM> To: Vanagon@VANAGON.COM <Vanagon@VANAGON.COM> Date: Tuesday, August 04, 1998 8:58 PM Subject: Stretch project update
