I remember another List member (John Viliness) and I talked about putting a small duct from the rear A/C ducting into the fresh air ducting that the van already has (vents above the sliding door on a Westie and on both sides on a passenger van). This would require cutting a hole in the rear A/C distributor and in the fresh air ducting and then connecting them with a short piece of ducting. Then we were going to isolate the rear fresh air ducting from the ducting in the front (in the doors and dash) to prevent the cool air from traveling that far. Then we were going to cut a hole in the fresh air ducting right behind the drivers head and right behind the passengers head and put in some nice looking circular vent. This would work and probably well, although it does involve a bit more cutting than some people are comfortable with (see recent stretch limo debate). Just thought I would share that. Have fun and yes John I know it was mostly your idea. Ken Wilford John 3:16 |
