I sprayed some carb cleaner inside the idle stabilizer valve with cold engine and jiggled the connectors to idle stabilizer valve and coolant temp sensor. Upon starting, it idles in 2000 rpm (for a first time since I bought this weekender...) for a min or so and then it went down to 950 rpm and stay there (no more noticable fluctuation). I assume that is normal. The acceleration is somewhat improved, but still hesitating... My questions are: 1. My weekender has its aftermarketed flow-thru S&S Headers and Exhaust System with oxygen sensor attached to it. Is this caused the hesitation problem? Anyone familar with S&S Header? 2. Distributor timing may be off? Vaccuum leaking? 3. Coolant temp sensor need to be checked for continuity? or just replace it? James 88weekender anaheim, ca |
