Derek, I'm hoping to forestall some confusion and frustration by writing- a "clutch cover" is what we refer to as a pressure plate, and the "plate" is what we call the disk. The throwout bearing would be referred to as a "release bearing". Having owned perhaps 30 Haynes manuals has given me a pretty fair understanding of British automotive jargon.
