Here's a true anal-retentive question for all of you (sorry): I just bought a GREAT '84 Westy (new heads, cooling system, brakes, tires, clutch...checked out very mechanically sound), but it has 121,000 miles on it, and the engine is pretty dusty, grimy, etc. (as one would expect after nearly 15 years). I like to do much of my own work, and I'm thinking of steam-cleaning the engine so it'll be "nicer" to work on. I've never done this before. Is there any reason to NOT steam-clean an engine? Are there any arguments FOR steam-cleaning an engine (other than it being more pleasant to look at and/or work on)? Thanks, Marty "Compulsive" Wallace ('84 Westy) Chico, California
