Subject: intermittant coolant leak resolved

Hey, I got it fixed with some brass connectors. I am posting the solution in a separate email for the archives: coolant hose oil exchanger fix.

I am beginning to resent that sweet coolant smell. There was a little crack in the rubber elbow at the heat exchanger. It possibly happened when my V-belt came off. It was interesting though dealaing with an intermittent leak. My theory is that there is still some Bars Leak floating around in the coolant which temporarily sealed the hose and then let go again.

When I looked at the engine again and did yet another job which required more joints in arms and hand than I had, it pointed out again the lack of an overall engineering scheme which becomes with so many add ons and lines and wires going criss-cross. It really displays the history of the development of the engine which was constructed as a temporay solution until the inline engines were ready. On the other hand with more than 250000kms behind the engine is still running strong, so I can't complain that way.

thanks for your contributions,

Björn
