Hi,

I'm running 235/75/15 on Passat/Audi 6x15" rims with 45mm offset. BFG-MudTerrains list as 29.2" in diam, and they will hit up front when turned/compressed. They also are VERY snug at inside corner of rear trailing arms, ie. some rubbing until the corners of the outermost lugs went away about 1/8"! I get mud buildup in there.

The rim is 1/2" wider than the stock 14" rim, or 12.5mm, so 6.25 mm is added to each side of the rim. With the deeper offset 45 vs. 30mm I get an inner lip position that is 21.5mm closer to the inside than before. This plus fat tires, section 9.3" max, means very little clearance between upper arm and sidewall (ie. no snow chains now!) As far as the offset being a problem, that's it. the centreline of the tire has move in 15mm, yes, but the trad edge has moved out 6.25mm. Nice that the outwer edge of the tire is still withing the wheel arch, unlike those Jeeps with the sticking out tires. Also bearing loads are reduced since the centre line is closer to the bearings, not farther away, like the Jeeps. Altogether, ET45 is a bonus in my mind. And I have a set of the Passat rims (new) FS. ;) spam-ho! Would I sweat the 15mm difference? No way considering what these tires do off-road, and the 2" lift they give is great. bye, Tim
