Yeah, The fan on my '86 Westy sounds like an airplane taking off. I can't find anything wrong with the mounts or fan blades. It looks normal to my untrained eye. I find it very annoying but have lived with it since I don't run the AC anymore. The engine doesn't overheat enough to cause it to kick in very often.

How loud are these things supposed to be? For instance, if mine comes on in the fast food drive-thru you can forget placing an order until it shuts down.

Please post some replies on this topic. I eventually want to get the AC on its feet again. Ears ringing in Alabama. Dan Hall Tuscaloosa
