I, too, hate to see vans getting hacked up or just going to the scrap pile. But I think there is a place for what Otmar is doing. He is being creative and imaginative with his vans and creating something that will stir up interest in Vanagons where ever he goes and that can only help our Vanagon crazed group to grow. We all like to personalize our vans. Some people use bumperstickers. Otmar uses a torch and a mig welder. Have fun and keep us posted. Ken Wilford John 3:16
