yeah, it's a pretty standard auto manufacturing technique ... it's a modern replacement for the old lead filler (which turned out to have toxic fumes). one after-market replacement is 3M Body Seam Sealer, part no. 08405. sold in a caulking gun tube, at most body-shop supply stores (the people who sell bondo, paint, sandpaper,and the other supplies needed by the body repair people). look in the yellow pages under Auto Repair.
