No. Mine is not a Syncro and at the time I just replaced one hose from the compressor to the condensor (at the radiator). I would, however, make sure when installing the new hose to cover the ends (with tape or soemthing) to keep them clean untill you connect them.

Most huh? I guess hose removal can be done in the afternoon. I nstallation will take a bit longer.

Yes, that's it.

The thingie (that's the technical term) on the left end of the evaporator (on the ceiling at the rear of the van) is the expansion valve.
