Keep in mind that increasing the tire size will reduce acceleration and hill climbing ability.  Also, the same effect will reduce the effectiveness of the brakes.  You can now get tires that are 2 or 3 inches larger than stock to fit on your wheels, (225/70 or 225/75-14).  Try those first before spending money on wheels.

    What aftermarket wheels are available in 15" or 16" for a '90 Syncro?
     
    I'm looking to decrease the engine speed for given road speed, ie, change the final ratios.
