Yes, it is common, and unfortunately the covers are not available separately. I do stock the complete replacement inlets (with hinged covers attached). Most are $49 (some a little less depending on color/style). Replacing the tank water inlet also results in an upgrade, if your Westy is pre-'88, since you can replace it with the later style that uses a plastic key and opens up like a funnel (and doesn't use the breakage-prone hinge design that you have now).
