Actually, new German heads are not available. Even Volkswagen themselves are using heads made by AMC-Spain. AMC's watercooled heads are just fine, but their aircooled heads have less than a stellar reputation. I have the watercooled ones for around $379, but I sell the aircooled AVP rebuilt heads rather than the AMC aircooled heads, since the AVP's have much better valve seats. They are $179 exchanged.
