I posted last night what I replaced when I redid the grommets, etc., on my fuel tank. Ihave had several people E-mail me why I replaced the plastic tube. Well, the plastic tube has a y fitting on each end. This is where on opening goes into a grommet in tank, one opening goes in plastic tube to other side of tank and the other opening is where the rubber hose goes to the gravity valve. When I originally replaced the grommets I didn't replaced the plastic hose. What happened is when I went for my first full tank of gas I decided to inspect my work. I had cracked the white y fitting on one end. I was able to replace the plastic hose without dropping the tank again. It was a bit of pain, but was possible. I wasn't the person who originally posted this info. Would the person who was hit me back with what you paid for parts. I am finding out that VW dealers vary greatly in how much they rip you off for parts.
