Mike - Don't forget the THIRD! My brother (one of those weird electronics engineers - works in mm radar & guidance systems in "black projects") suggested not wasting money on speedo repair/replacement via switching to a GPS on the dash! In addition to being cheaper and the most accurate speedo available, it'll even let you know where you've been, where you are and, possibly, predict where you are going. Even stores miles covered! He's predicting the GPS will eventually replace the speedo/odometer and be responsible for generating maintenance "alerts" when incorporated into the vehicle's computer system. Now, can anyone tell me if there are any suitable "heads-up displays" hitting the military surplus market? Surely would be nice to avoid having to look at the dashboard. BOB - WA4RRN '85 GL |
