Apparently the useful life of an O2 sensor depends on whether you're a parts/service vendor or a consumer. I've noticed Michael Modl consistently quoting O2 sensor replacement interval as being at 60K or less. I'd be interested to know if VW dealers and service shops sell their customers on O2 sensor replacement earlier than the 90K miles as part of a "value-added" preventive maintenance program? In my opinion, this looks like a great way to make extra $$...
