Ahhhh, Derek, how can you so VERY nice lookin Syncro camper have a clutch problem. I'd have figured that you were on top of all the mechanical ills long before they went awry. Well, here's my experience in my '87 16V GTI. I drove my '87 GTI at least 5000 miles on a severely slipping clutch. When I eventually replaced the parts, the pressure plate was broken, the disk was ok. I think you should be ok going another 220 miles. Be gentle, drive carefull.
