Subject: Oil Burning??
Comments: To: Vanagon@VANAGON.COm

I have an 85 Crew Cab that I am trying to get to know. Just got it three weeks ago so some things are new to me. I am a AirCooled Van owner and this being my first attempt at an WaterBoxer? Anyway I am experiencing some trouble keeping oil in the engine! I have no puddling under the car after all night parking! I also left it running for around 20 Min in one place and saw no evidence of oil leaks! It burned 1.5 quarts in 300Km and that is crazy RIGHT! Well the only thing from here to think of is the oil rings being old, cracked, something bad. The thing is I have never seen black smoke coming from the tail pipe. Only once and awhile have I seen white smoke. The engine has lots of juice, meaning it is powerful to my knowledge. So what or where is my OIL going. There is a ratle in the engine , tock tock tock. that have been getting worse as the oil get down to min. It is worse in 2nd gear after acceleration as I am no longer giving it gas. What a mitery to me?

Any Help Gaelen
