Tim - Wierd! $6 for a freeze-dried meal??? Of course, according to some Vanagon detractors, we SHOULD stock our Vangagons with such stuff, with all their horror stories of how often we break down!

Actually, I once calculated that I was consuming about 6,000 calories per day when I was a grunt in the RVN. Of course, I used to carry about 10 canteens of water on my pack, too. Still got down to 170#, though. NOW, I just carry a 1.75liter bottle of Bacardi, my ice chest and a 1/2 case of Cokes with me in the van. Along with my tool-box and my Ham Radio equipment, what ELSE could I really need to TREK ON, at 235#???
