You said: >Chris.... What has happened to your van is some of my worst fears. Personally, i didn't buy a vanagon due to the head problems and coolent system. I am very apprehensive about the reliablity of the eurovan. After all, neither van (5 cyl. and 6) have been on the road very long. VW are very expensive to fix but we want the poptop so we are stuck. We have had continual problems (7-10) with the fridge, roof leak, flaky paint, door locks that went out, new hydrolics for the roof in 1.5 years. Chris 95' EB > Ho, I just I should have mentioned some of the "other" problems. The only other VW problem is the cracking paint at the body joint seams. VW has fixed this once and they have re-cracked again. This is covered under the rust/corrosion warranty. I have had the roof struts replaced twice. The top now stays up. The furnace still need the new thermostat, but otherwise has been good. The fridge has usually been too good, i.e. it kept freezing the food until the last trip where it wouldn't cool. This I have to debug when I get my van back tomorrow. Well, that's all I can think of. Christopher Quijano |
