The archives machine is way too slow on searches (AOL will log you out before
large searches return hits, if any.)

VW Stock wheels (steel) are 14" x 5.5" (?) (for Vanagons and most Syncros)
VW Stock wheels (Alloy) are 15" x 5.5" (or 6" ?)

Eurospec now advertises a 15" x 6.5" alloy wheel for Vanagons.

Problem is, I don't care particuliarly for the Eurospec design. It's okay (as
in, if there is no other real choices...)

Price is not a concern to me (really!) I.E. The Eurospec price ($129 each?)
seems quite inexpensive. However, I don't know what the maximum WIDTH wheel I
can stick on my Syncro is. Will a 7" wide wheel be okay (no rubbing), assuming
it has the proper offset? What about 7.5"? How about 8"? I'd prefer a set of
15" or 16" alloy wheels, in place of my stock 14" steel ones. I've seen some
wheels, that I think would be appropriate, but they come in a minimum of 7"
widths (my experience with top end wheels, is that the manufacturers that I've
bought from, will drill the lug nut holes and set the offset as appropriate
for the vehicle, but that won't do me any good if the width is too wide to
begin with.)
