I for one just want to dispel the myth that Westy owners dont use their equipment. I use the stove and refrig EVERY time we go out. I tend to agree with others who have espoused the self-contained lifestyle. When the baby needs to lay down on a trip, fold the seat down. Need a cold soda?, open the frig and get one. Porta-potty cuts down on the trips to generally nasty bathrooms and prevents a long walk to the restroom at any state park or other campground you might be staying at.

Plus the ability to drop the top, step into the drivers seat and drive away without all the hassle of "breaking camp" is outstanding. I love my Westy. As cantankerous as it is sometimes and as underpowered as it may be, I still love it.

Just my 2 cents.

P.S. I have been driving various VW's (6 so far) throughout my life, and I love my Westy the most.

Interesting...help me out folks, now I am REALLY curious.

Being that I am still in the Westy-lust stage of ownership, (using a self- camperized-nostove-nosink-nofridge, type II), I am sowing the seeds of purchasing my dream; the convenience of the Westy accouterments. I imagine in the near future, cooking simple, but delicious meals on the STOVE from fresh food from the FRIDGE while washing my hands and cleaning the plates in the SINK. Is this reality?

How much/often do you use your "appliances" in the Westy, and (while we are at it), how many bring other grown-ups with you, and use BOTH beds?

Is my Westy-lust justified, or should I just enjoy my
