Subject: PCV Valve on Cal 80 Vanagon

Dear Vanagon List;

Does anybody out there know the function of a PCV valve on an 80 vanagon? How do you test it? I do have the Bentley, but it doesin't cover much about the PCV. I kind of suspect my less than optimum performance is due to this thing, plus a bit of over-heating on the mountains.

My guess is that, this thing should be closed at idle, and open passed a certain vacuum pressure. Is this correct?

Appreciate it;

Regards, Vahid
