Hello list !

I have just purchased my 1st water cooled VW (87 Vanagon GL) and I have a question regarding the temp gauge. What does the blinking red light (in the center of the gauge) indicate ? What reading or position of the gauge is considered normal operating temp ? I just bought this van saturday and will be locating manuals soon.....but until then I'm counting on you guys.

Thanks in advance
