Subject: Creeping idle speed when A/C is on.

Usually when I run the A/C the idle on my '88 Westfalia goes up to between 1800-2000 RPM. It is my understanding that it is supposed to do this to help keep the engine from stalling at idle. Unfortunately I noticed today that the idle was creeping up to about 3500rpm at idle with the A/C on. Turning the A/C off did not change the idle speed - but turning the engine off, leaving the A/C off, and restarting, made the idle come back to normal.

I'm wondering if my throttle cable may be sticking somewhere? Or is this an adjustment that needs to be made?
