Only dual-horn Vanagons had relays and since no American Vanagons came with dual horns, it stands to reason that American Vanagons don't have horn relays. (there may be exceptions)

However, ALL Vanagons have a pre-wired slot for a horn relay! It is slot #6 on the front of the fusebox (top right as you face it). Unfortunately, the corresponding connection to relay/slot #6 is area "L" (see Bentley) on the back of the fusebox, which uses very teeny-weeny specialty connectors. IF you could find a source for the stock "L area" connector, then wiring the horn relay "properly" would be a piece-of-cake.

Instead, I chose to wire my own horn relay (I have six horns under my bumper...) and attached it to the top of the fusebox.

Let me know if you are able to find a source for the special area "L" connector -- I'm still interested.

Cheers,

MJS
