I remember VW had a recall on fuel lines near the engine compartment
(apparently too many people complained to NHTSA about the bursted fuel
hoses).   I asked about the recall and the VW dealer told me it's not for
Syncro model.  Check with VW dealers with your VIN, you may get a free fuel
line replacement.
