Thanks for reply.  No, I'm not trying to be a cheapskate.  Just see how
many people are willing to use expensive ContiTech Belts?  I'm using it on
my Jetta and now it's the 3rd set I just put it in.  I know Conti-SF is a
service-free belt, retensioning is not required.  But I was disappointed
about the durability.  My current VW/Gates (original) belts on my Vanagon
have lasted 11 years / 78K miles and my original VW/Gates belts on my Jetta
last 7 years / 90K miles.  I'm trying to find out if there is any other
better alternatives.  Apparently not.

You say you had to replace your Conti's after two years... How long do you
WANT you belts to last??? I replace 'em every two years anyway. You are
talking $30 every two years, vs. a LONG wait for AAA. You make the call.

Don't be a cheapskate, go with the Conti's.
