Well, Peewee has been running a week now on his new brain. No problems noted. Took a couple of small trips (85 mi.) and he ran with no problem. Have driven every day since last Friday and everything seems ok. Tonight, I replaced the cat (PO had gutted it). Not only is he running noticeably quieter, but now he has that minty fresh cat smell (sarcasm). While putting the new cat on, I noticed that the EGR filter had rusted out in one corner. I checked our favored vendors, but none listed the EGR filter. Called my FLAPS, and he did not list an aftermarket EGR filter for the 82 Vanagon. Can anyone steer me to where I can get one, other than from the dealer?

The wife is already dreaming about camping this fall when it cools off!

Thanks for all the help to everyone who responded to my cries for help.

Chaz '82 Westy "Peewee" Brownfield, Texas

P.S. Anyone want a dead Jetronic brain and a gutted cat?
