Rob, Crawl under the van and check that both little vacuum hoses are well connected on the differential lock servo. The servo is right next to the gear linkage on the front of the trany on the left side. The vacuum hoses are made of rubber and they sometimes crack and wear out or could get ripped out if you drive through the (thick) bushes. Chances are you are may not be engaging the differential lock either, and this may be the remedy. If this doesn't do it, I don't know either and will learn from the listees.
