There's already a hole in the sheet metal there that has a little plastic plug filling it now. You can "snake" the power wire and ground wires (2) from the drivers side down the A pillar, under the dash, and up the passenger side A pillar to the new light position. One ground is connected directly to ground, while the other ties into the door switches ground circuit. While you're there you can add (as I have) a spot type reading light behind the VW light. I used one with about a 6" flexible stalk. With this arrangement you can read (books or maps) in the passenger seat while driving without getting light in the driver's eyes or crank the light around backwards while parked to add light in the center area of the van.
