(Please forgive the multiple posts - I'm trying to make sure that this

How about a last-minute, impromptu weekend camping trip to the middle of
nowhere!?
Westy owners from Oregon, Idaho, Northern California, & Northern Nevada
(and anywhere else, for that matter!) load up your vans with gear, food,
and families... let's converge at the beautiful little town of
Frenchglen, Oregon (pop. 10).
The Frenchglen, Steen Mountain, Alvord Desert, Malheur National Wildlife
Refuge is one of the most unusual and beautiful places in the west.
Check it out at: http://www.oregon1.org/harney/
No sponsors, no swap meets, no shows, no planned activities, no
schedule... just relax, trade travel stories, see other Westys, meet nice
folks, and hang out in Frenchglen...sip root beer (or any of the
wonderful microbrews on tap at The Buckeroo Room) on the wood porch in
front of the Frenchglen Mercantile...
We can camp right on the main street in town at the Frenchglen Wayside
State Park. It's rustic, primitive, and quaint - with water and basic
provisions available at the Frenchglen Mercantile, and WONDERFUL meals
available next door at The Buckeroo Room and the Frenchglen Hotel (you
may need to make reservations well ahead of time: fghotel@ptinet.net).
However, this is a TINY town with limited facilities - everyone should
plan on being self sufficient food-wise (just in case).
For those of you who don't want to "rough it" - the Frenchglen Hotel is
availble: http://www.pacificharbor.com/nwp/nwp018.htm
Let me know if you are going - I'm going to be coordinating caravans and
contacts.
See you there!

Post Scriptum:
Okay, but where in the hell is Frenchglen, you ask?
Easy. It's...
...60 miles north of the Oregon/California border
..100 miles east of the Oregon/Idaho border
...or Frenchglen is:
* about 1 hour south of Burns, Oregon on Oregon state route 205
* about 3 hours northeast of Lakeview, Oregon (some gravel roads)
* about 4 hours southeast of Bend, Oregon
* about 5 hours west of Boise, Idaho
* about 8 hours southeast of Portland, Oregon
* about 12 hours northeast of San Francisco
* (you get the idea...)
