For those interested, here's some additional info on listing below: '86 has been sold, as of 8/16 '91 Carat - needs some real work. No rear bumper, battle damage in rear (why there's no bumper), tranny only works in second and third gear. Van maintained by independent VW mechanic in the area, van was college students commute vehicle. Phone number reaches voice mail that states owner is out of office until 8/24. '87 - I have appointment to look at this Wednesday. Owner says he turned down $500dollars for the vehicle. Leaking oil or tranny fluid (seal?), surface rust, 100k miles, "strong engine". Present owner does not know if heads have been redone. "New parts" are water pump, brakes, tires, and one or two other things I can't recall right now. A/C does not work.
