I will driving from Maine to Seattle on or around October 1 in the HUGE Ryder truck that I have rented. I will be taking Interstate 90 most of the way with a few side trips to the Black Hills of South Dakota and Yellowstone National Park.

Vanagon Related part of this message! (no pun intended)

From personal experiance, big stuff like transmissions, engines, seats, wheels, bumpers, doors, etc can be a pain to ship and expensive. I will have a bit of extra room in the 24 footer and may be willing to transport LARGE VW stuff from East to West in exchange for help offsetting my moving expense$. Perhaps I can help you get those cool alloys, the mint Carat interior,(or whatever), For Sale in say.....Ohio, to your hometown in ahh...Idaho. Get out your map and see if this works for you!

Please keep it simple and straightforward. I don't want to cruise wrecking yards, evaluate stuff to see if it's worthy of the asking price, or go way off I-90 looking for your sisters kids cousins neighbors house that has a big Oak tree in the front yard that got cut down last year. Knowaddamean?

The trusty Syncro will be spared a heavy load and 3000+ miles as it will be towed on a "auto transport" type trailer (flatbed) behind the BIG truck. I plan to do some camping along the way and will park the BIG RIG, back my van off the trailer and go! Hope to spend a few days in Yellowstone 'cause the last time I drove West ('89, '90, ?) everything was on fire and the Park Service closed the gates as I drove towards them.

For more info, please respond to me, NOT THE LIST!!! deandrew@somtel.com
