Eric,

I live in Germany but recently bought most of my spares/accessory needs in the US - much cheaper (although getting a full set of shocks, cv joints and wheel bearings through as hand luggage had its interesting moments :) ). I would suggest getting anything specifically VW related from the list dealers in the US. Germany dealer prices are not cheap!

If there's anything from Reimo etc. that particularly catches your eye and can't be got at a discount in the US then OK - but generally US is cheaper.
