Not really.  The 'sermons' were the preaching of a grumpy opinionated guy and
mostly applied to air-cooled busses.  Among other things, Mr. Hoover has
opined that Vanagons (and water-cooled VWs in general) were 'orphans' and
would quickly rust away into oblivion.

I wouldn't take Bob's complaints too seriously.  He's a notorious curmudgeon.
This sort of thing was bound to happen, and if he's not willing to share his
knowledge, in my humble opinion it's not worth being shared.  There are many
friendly knowledgeable people on the Vanagon list.
