Hi, Kirk-

A good place to start would be the Kelly Blue Book: www.kbb.com

Based on this vehicle selling in Northern California, that $18k price is probably not too bad, particularly in light of the fact that they are doing all that engine work.

Good luck!

Marty Wallace (1984 Westfalia) Chico, California

I went to the Kelly site, and punched all the info. that you provided:

1989 VW Vanagon GL Camper ------------------------- 4-Cyl. 2.1 Liter 4 Speed Manual 4WD Syncro 140,000 miles

EQUIPMENT --------- Air Conditioning Rear Air Power Windows Power Door Locks Cruise Control AM/FM Stereo Cassette

==================================== Blue Book Suggested Retail: $18,180 ====================================

Suggested retail represents the price a dealership might ask for this make and model vehicle. This represents a fully reconditioned vehicle in excellent condition. This retail price is not a trade-in or private-party value, but rather assumes that a dealer has absorbed the cost of making the vehicle ready for sale, reconditioning, advertising, sales commissions, arranging for financing and insurance and standing behind the vehicle for any mechanical or safety problems. Many late model vehicles at this price have passed an inspection program or carry a warranty. Actual dealer selling price may vary from this price. _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com
