The problem is that in this Texas heat you need that AC running 100%
of the time. The temp goes 3/4 the way up the gauge, the high speed
fan kicks in, the compressor turns off, the water cools just a little,
then the fan turns off, compressor back on etc etc.
My solution was to install a manual fan switch that LEAVES the high
speed fan ON so that the engine temp gets down to something like
normal. The VW engineers never thot about temps over 100 degrees.
Problem now is that I have no AC while the fan is left on.
