Hi All,

Just tried to get the dealer to get a new alternator bracket for my '87 Syncro. Shows on the fiche, part 12A but no number. Skinny thing from block to main alt. bracket and the dipstick is clamped onto it. "Sorry, that part was only issued on Suadi Arabian vehicles, you'll have to do the best you can" WTF is this?!! Has anyone else had this problem for any other part? My vehicle has been in Canada all it's life. If anyone has one please let me know, mines cracked, and a bit thin to bother MIG'ing.

I also need the crossover pipe from the waterpump to the opposite cylinder head, the steel pipe(s) that hide behind the pulley and traps rocks and sand while rusting out secretly. Another VW kludge on that so so finely designed wasserboxer engine. I need both parts, they are connected with a short bit of hose. I will shortly need the big double X-over pipe up by the bellhousing, mine looks like it's made of BranFlakes the rust is so bad. About as strong to I suspect.

thanks, lemme know, bye. Tim

'87 Syncro Rusty '85 Crew/Subaru (yard art at the moment, don't ask) '65 Porsche 912, (loud, fast and red, and using up all my spare time)
