Subject: Charcoal filter valve ?

Greetings.

I have a question regarding the filter valve behind the airbox. The one with white & purple vacum lines going to it. I was just checking out something in the engine bay, revving the motor from the throttle body, and heard this sharp click from the valve. In fact, when you put your hand on it and rev the motor you can feel it click. Is this normal ? In all the times I've had my head under the hood, I've never heard this. It is quite a distinct sound. Is the filter valve toast ? Any feedback is well appreciated.
