The previous owner of my '89 Westy went a little light-happy, installing an aftermarket light directly over the sliding door (roughly opposite the stock one), another directly behind the passenger seat, pointing forward toward the front, and a third on the passenger side a bit further behind the sliding door (over the sofabed). I have never used the one over the sofabed, although my wife/co-pilot find the one pointing towards her seat useful when reading maps, etc. But the one over the sliding door has proven invaluable. I can't count how many times I've used it when going into the side door to grab something at night. It's great having a light right there when you open the door. I never thought of wanting a light there when I had a Westy with the stock interior light setup, but now that I have it, I can definately say that when I upgrade to my "dream" Syncro Westy, I'll put one there myself.
