Unfortunately there is no relation between the gas engine fuel injection
and the diesel fuel injection.  While the gas system is electronic, the
diesel injection system is completely mechanical.  There are no engine
control electronics.  Interesting how that works :-)

Now the new VW TDI (Turbo Direct Injection) engines do use electronics
to help with getting the right amount of fuel to the right places but
AFAIK this is the first VW diesel to use electronics.
