John I feel you have hit it in one. Just a few of my ideas. Remember Ron is a very small business with low overheads that way he can keep prices down and make VW parts affordable to us owners. For that - I know - we are forever grateful. He is a one man and woman ( don't forget the little lady ) band and from Johns observations has his " ring hanging out " ( sorry old Aussie saying - am sure you can guess its meaning ). Ok the point is this. If you want, immediate service, then unfortunately you have to go to the larger operations with larger staffs in the parts department and pay higher prices. I am afraid it is as simple as that. If however you refuse to pay these inflated prices ( remember that extra staff costs money - overheads rise - prices go up ) then you rely on Ron's operation and unfortunately you have to put up with slower service. Rest assured ! Ron would not deliberately go and rubbish his customers on the list or deliberately let them down ( remember he is one of us - a List member - and as such holds a honored place among us as friend/mate/ buddy/chum ( covers the international spectrum, sorry don't know the German equivalents ) To end this diatribe, and I just love your saying, " lets cut him some slack " John if you, and any others who live nearby, how about offering your help to a mate and offer to reply to the list for him or some other little way to ease his burden. I am sure that Ron is as far behind as he can possibly get and maybe if a small amount of time could be donated to bring him up to speed then he may be able to get ahead and stay there. It is hard trying to make up lost ground when those orders/emails still keep coming. The bottom line is, I guess I am selfish I would hate to see Ron expand too big employ heaps of assistants and have his wonderful prices go out the door on overheads. To you Ron I offer my apologies for thinking that I am such a smart ar*# to think that I know how to run YOUR - apologies for shouting - business. My motive is purely one of offering help and of course to keep your bloody prices down. Keep up the good work and regards to the little lady Ray. P.S. Lets end this now. - please !
