When I visit the VW dealer (which is seldom now) I usually supply my own parts. They don't care if I do that or not. The labour bill is always 100% spot on the time they spent on the vechicle when I supply my own parts. Usually if I buy the parts from them a 2 hour jobs turns into a 1 hour. In the end they still make the same amount of money only in different ways.
