For those of you who have never visited the Bus Depot, you have no idea how
busy Ron is. If you were to visit you would be assailed by a constant ringing
of phones, while Ron is on the other line with a customer taking his/her
order, while also trying to box up some orders and get them ready to ship by
five o'clock. He does have help. He has a young lady and another fellow
there who also help him pack up stuff and answer the phones. So give the man
a break. Yes, I too learned very quickly that emails of orders or leaving
orders on the anwering machine is an exercise in futility. But in Ron's
defense, when you do talk to him he usually knows exactly what part you need
and ships it out post haste. This is better than my local "Foreign Parts"
place that is run by a family who has been in the business for 20 years or
more, and yet manage to screw up my orders around 50 % of the time. Did I
mention that thier phones are busy alot too, or that thier prices are twice
what Ron charges (They wanted $50 for an Upper ball joint that I got 2 of from
Ron for $25 each!) If you want to talk about crummy service the local parts
places around where I live (Pep Boys, et al) all have to order the parts for
any VW, (they'll be in Monday!) when the parts come in, half the time they are
the wrong ones or the managers in the store don't know where they are in the
stock room, and don't even think about checking out because the one person on
the register is checking people with credit cards out manually since the
little credit card machine is broken (again).
Sorry to be venting but really the only problem we are experiencing Ron is
some hold time (Solution: Call right when he gets in around 10 am. Don't call
around 5 'cause he's busy), and the fact that our emails don't get answered
(Solution: Fax in the order, or call and speak to someone.)
Beside that I love his prices and his knowlege of our very specialized
vehicles makes him the man I call when I need stuff.

PS No Ron didn't ask me to say this but somebody had to.
