Tony; I had two kids stand on a 4' steel bar bolted to the flywheel, my wife stood on the engine and I jumped on a 6' cheater pipe attached to the breaker bar to get that #$%^&* pulley bolt off! It is NOT left handed, just tight.I think you are right,you must remove the pulley and fly wheel to split the case.
