For U.S. buyers, keep in mind when purchasing out-of-state and/or out-of-country that these vehicles may have been manufactured to satisfy ONLY those safety, smog abatement requirements (safety features, smog abatement, etc.) where they are sold. Thus, although you could save a bundle importing, you may not be able to license or register your vehicle without major alterations to the vehicle (= major expense). For example, a vehicle made for sale in CANADA, likely will not meet the smog abatement requirements in the state of CALIFORNIA.
